Why:  To celebrate the rich & natural life that surrounds our

beautiful Torch Lake

Michigan is blessed with many lakes… large, small, clear, muddy, green & blue, but Torch Lake seems something different, something special.

What is it about this place? Blue Skies filled with puffy white clouds? Whitecaps churning through turquoise water? Grey storms hurtling down the lake? If you live here you probably have your own answer…If you’ve visited, you may have a sense of it…Torch Lake holds its own magic. Mother nature doesn’t just reside here, she dances, sings & shouts her joy, splashing her colors through the waters and skies.

Each year, thousands motor along the roads in our area catching glimpses of the water. Some never bat an eye, some think “How nice”, & some even stop to dip a toe in the water before continuing on. But for others, a glance or a toe in the water is not enough. When some of us see the waters of Torch, we connect.

I like to think the lake does that. Most of the time she is content to sit with all of her magnificent mother-nature-blue-splendor & watch the human “goings-on” around her. But every once in a while, on a whim, she reaches out, soul to a human soul, to invite, to share, to connect and you are simply drawn in, to become a part of her. The practicalities of life & your wallet may dictate the details of when & how you connect, but you will forever remain a part of her, connected in your heart.

Whether you are a swimmer,  boater, sailor, wakeboarder, or just one who loves watching the sunsets & the waves I’m inviting you to join me in celebration of this lovely place we call Torch Lake.

I’m new at this thing they call blogging but I’m hoping this will be a place where we can share our stories & photos, our ideas & information, our passion for our true blue lake.  If you like what you read here & you like the idea let me know & feel free to share this with other like-minded souls.

Me?….I’m off for a morning look at the lake!

About Diane

a long time lover of all things aquatic...swimming, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling...if it involves water...I'm in. Add traveling, snowshoeing in the winter, gardening in the spring, & lots of fresh air & sunshine. Blend with cooking, crafting, great friends & my Border Collie Zack. Toss in some sweet beekeeping. Mix in a couple of great books, my camera, clean notebook paper, & a cool pen & you pretty much have a picture of me. My friends tell me I should also add..."once a teacher...always a teacher".
